Nepal Veterinary Association, Bagmati Province, Celebrates World Veterinary Day 2025 with Various Programs

On the occasion of World Veterinary Day 2025, Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA), Bagmati Province, organized a series of impactful programs, celebrating the day with great enthusiasm and participation. This year’s celebration embraced the global theme ”
During the camp, Dr. Nimesh Khanal stated, “Serving the sacred cow is our duty. Today’s service campaign has further strengthened the social responsibility of the veterinary profession.” The camp provided free health check-ups, pregnancy diagnoses, treatments, vaccinations against foot-and-mouth disease, deworming medications, vitamins, minerals, and liver tonics for cows and calves at the shelter.
The camp was conducted with technical support from Prof. Dr. Shyam Kishor Shah and Dr. Shatrughan Shah and operated under the coordination of Dr. Hari Adhikari, Secretary of NVA Bagmati Province. There was also significant participation from students of the Nepal Veterinary Students Association -Npi and NVSA-rampur).
Institutions such as Kantipur Pharmaceuticals Lab Ltd., Q-Med, Live Care Pharma, and Indian Herbs Vetquinol provided notable support for the camp. The organizing committee expressed its commitment to continuing such service-oriented initiatives in the future….Continuing the celebrations, on April 26,a prabhat pheri (morning rally) was organized, with active participation from various veterinary organizations, students, and veterinary professionals. Following the rally, a greeting exchange ceremony and annual wall calendar unveiling were held to mark World Veterinary Day 2025 and the Nepali New Year 2082. The event was jointly supported by Nepal Veterinary Association, Agriculture and Forestry University (Rampur), Nepal Polytechnic Institute (NPI), NVSA-NPI, NVSA-rampur and Chitwan Industries Association.
Furthermore, a special training session on the “Code of Conduct for Registered Veterinarians” was conducted in collaboration with the Nepal Veterinary Council. Dr. Deepak Tiwari, a member of the Council, facilitated the training session. The entire program was chaired by Dr. Nimesh Khanal and hosted by Dr. Hari Adhikari. Senior veterinarians including Prof. Dr. Shyam Kishor Shah, Dr. Subhash Shrestha, Dr. Narayan Neupane, Dr. Yagya Raj Pandey, Dr. Ashish Dhakal, and Dr. Rajesh Tharu were among the more than 100 veterinarians and students who actively participated.
